Class Materials

This page chronicles all of classes I have created over the years. It is in reverse chronological order, with the most recent work at the top. Each class may have multiple links, but if there is anything I can answer questions on, please feel free to reach out. I generally provide slides as a PDF and a Google Drive handout for each of my classes. I am in the process of getting them all recorded as well.

Participating In Persona Pentathlon

After competing in Persona Pentathlon in 2024, I was asked to put together a class on my experience both for my local Barony and for the University of Atlantia’s Instructor Spotlight. That class was recorded and can be viewed on my recorded classes page, linked below. The handout and slides for this class can be found here.

Electronic A&S: Documentation, Display, and More

Having maintained this website for several years now, along with The Oak, I’ve learned a lot about how, why and the tricks of doing arts and sciences digitally. This class is meant to share the resources and lessons learned from those experiences. This class was recorded for the University of Atlantia YouTube and can be found below.

The What’s and Why’s of Persona Development

One of the requests of Her Majesty, Yasmin, of her A&S Champion was that I teach about persona development where possible. I decided to put together a class for 2023 Summer University’s online session and keep it in the roster of regular classes. The handout for this class can now be found here.

A Novice’s Guide to Arts and Sciences

This class was presented at Storvik Novice Tourney 2023. The goal is to introduce people interested in A&S to concepts, the scope of possible A&S, and to get them started in exploring the possibilities. It included a show and tell style display to highlight different art forms

Exploring Late Iberian Cuisine: Nola’s Libro de guisados

Now that I have about a dozen of Nola’s recipes redacted, it felt like time to do a class on them. This was actually the first in person University class I have ever taught. I have since taught the class several more times and it is available on my recorded classes page.

Spanish Women’s Undergarment’s: An Experimental Reconstruction

This chronicles my attempts at faithfully recreating Spanish women’s undergarments through a heavily trial and error process. It was originally submitted for Know World A&S at 2021’s Virtual Pennsic, and then again for a Winter University 2022 class. The handout for that class can be found here and the slide deck for that class can be found here.

La Mesa Sabrosa: A Meal from Nola

This meal was my submission for King’s Challenge during COVID. It included a delicious eggplant casserole, a roast chicken, a pine nut sauce, and cheese-filled fritters. I taught a class on this at University.

Monochrome Embroidery from Around the World

This is my first ever University of Atlantia class. It covers monochrome embroidery from England, Italy, Germany, Spain, and more. The slide deck for this class can be found here.
